By Ginny Garzon, IEP Director of Operations
As most campuses have reached mid-term, many of our education abroad colleagues have wrapped up their Fall fairs or soon will. If your office is like any of our IEP offices, you likely spent countless hours prepping signs, flyers, inflating balloons, checking and double checking catering orders, and then cleaning it all up.
Event planning and hosting is a heck of a job! And chances are, you had some help along the way. How about sending Thank You cards to everyone who lent their time and talents to help you with your campus event?
Think about how you feel when you receive a handwritten note from someone. It generally makes you feel pretty great that they took the time to express their gratitude by actually writing. If you’re like me, you probably keep that note around for a while (maybe on your desk or a bulletin board.)
Take some time to share your gratitude this fall. It’s a great way to show appreciation and encourage those key campus allies to continue collaborating with your office. (And it’s a great excuse to get away from your computer!)
Here’s a quick list of campus services and colleagues you might want to consider thanking:
- Campus Events Staff
- Key Administrators
- Student Ambassadors
- Your Office Colleagues/Staff
